CARNAGE NEWS
JUNE 29th thru July 4th will be a Paintball Summer
Camp/Clinic. This will be held by the home field team “Atlanta Phoenix”. All week
you will be learning different styles of play and different tactics from different
players, how to take care of your makers, cleaning equipment, run drills, how to
build teams, look for sponsorships, and if this wasn’t enough for one week we took
it one step more and we will have a personal friend as well as World Champion player
Mike Paxson from the Ironmen holding his part of the Clinic during July 3rd
thru July 4th. This all starts at $350 for the whole week. Most clinics
charge close to $150 - $200 just for a 2 day clinic. Oh yeah did we say that this
will include 5 cases of paint and a lot of drawing for give away??
We will have a flyer posted in the shop as well as trying to post her on line as
soon as we can. Please email or call us for more info until then. And to top it
off if this wasn’t enough for you to get all excited not only will you get to spend
time learning from Mike Paxson on July 3rd and 4th you also
get to play with and against him on July 5that our monthly Sunday Scenario.
I also want to apologize for the lateness in updates but we are updated now. New
paints and paint prices are up. Also we would like to mention again that if you
are renting our equipment you shoot FPO. NO BYOP for rentals please. Also speaking
of BYOP, bringing your own paint is still $10 if you have your own equipment.
As of NOV 2008 Monster Ball was a banned paint from Carnage Paintball and we are
sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused or will cause but due to the injuries
and issues that have been caused by Monster Ball we decided it was best as a field
and in the best interest of our customers that we take as many precautions as we
can to protect ourselves and you. I know many of you will argue that you have never
had a problem with this paint but we have and I have many of customers who will
back this. We would prefer you understand that we are trying to keep a quality control
on the field and even if you go out and spend an average of $35 a case for buying
something from Walmart, Sports Authority or DICK’s Sporting Goods, you still have
to pay an extra $10 for playing with it per player at our field which in turn makes
the paint just as expensive if not more depending on where you bought it.
We also would like you to understand we are not forcing you to buy our line of paint
we just would like to educate and help you understand why we go this route. Our
paint is fresh every week or closest to it and rotated regularly where stores do
not handle nor care for the products in the same fashion as a field would. Again we are not telling you that you can’t
buy from a store, just no Monster Ball. Plus buying from us is just convenient.
Lastly I would like to announce a new group structure for those that would like
to take advantage of it.
Another new concept that we decided to start doing every month is Scenario Sunday.
Which is being moved to the 1st Sunday of every month from now on. We did this so
that you may have a chance to attend the same events that the Atlanta Phoenix attends
if you choose to do so. They would love to have you along. We have fourms that anybody
can sign up on to keep in touch with whats going on with the team and the up coming
events.
GENERAL INFO:
Playing Paintball: You don't have to be
an athlete to play paintball. All you need is a good attitude and the desire to
go out there and have a great time. There are several variations of paintball, the
most common being a high-tech form of capture the flag. There are two teams. Each
team has a home base at opposite sides of the playing field where each team hangs
their flag. The goal is to make it from your home base to your opponents, capture
their flag, and return it to your home base. Of course, there is one small problem:
the other team is going to do their best to shoot you and put you out of the game!
Another type of game is called Elimination. This works just as it sounds. There
are two teams put on separate sides of the field. When the game is started, they
meet somewhere in the middle and, well, eliminate each other. Sound like fun? It
is! Besides being fun, paintball is great exercise, a great stress reliever, and
it promotes teamwork.
Paintball is Safe: Even more important than
making sure you day is fun is making sure your day is safe. Safety is the number
one concern on the field. First, all players are require to wear paintball approved
protective gear, which includes a goggle system for eye and face protection. All
players are instructed in the safe handling of their paintball gun and other equipment.
Experienced referees and field staff are on hand at all times to ensure that each
and every player is playing safely and by the rules. Statistically, paintball is
ranked safer than Bowling by the National Safety Council. If that doesn’t make a
believer out of you try a .31 per 1000 participants a yr. 93 people a year get hurt
per 1000 at home.
What to Bring: Bring yourself, friends,
family, and expectations of a fun filled day. You should wear old, loose-fitting
clothing that you don't mind getting dirty. Try to wear something that will blend
in with the woods; a white t-shirt definitely won't help you not get shot! We will
provide you with all the equipment you need to play, including goggles, a paintball
gun, CO2, paintballs, and instruction. When you get here, you and the other players
will be separated into teams of equal ability. Then, after being given instruction
on everything from rules to safety, you will be off to a great day of fun!
